this mockup has an interesting aspect: it inherently caters for the case of a single user having multiple simultaneous sessions open. otoh, i find that the duplication clutters up the view, and users who want just the basic functionality may even find it confusing. therefore i suspect that the common approach of embedding the current session information into a single list is better for the average user. of course, such an interface makes the multiple sessions per user case somewhat challenging to cover. one possibility would be having a combo box below the password field which would contain the existing sessions and a "new session" entry. however, this would still needlessly clutter the interface for most users. given that the case is relatively uncommon even for power users, a highly asymmetric solution may be fine: have the option to start a new session only in the menu at the bottom, and once the user has actually started multiple sessions, put multiple entries for him into the list. anyway, this is part of a bigger problem for which i created a new "master task". *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 232011 ***
