Description Edward Oubrayrie 2009-10-27 04:14:52 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

First, the bug: The "View > Split View > Close Active" shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S in Konsole does not work when Kopete is running because it triggers the "Show/Hide Contact List" Global Shortcut of Kopete instead.

While I am at it I should point out that Ctrl+Shift+S is inconsistent with both Kate and Konqueror, which use the trio Ctrl+Shift+L (Split View Left-Right), Ctrl+Shift+T (Split View Top-Bottom) and Ctrl+Shift+R (Close Active View).

BTW, the choice of Ctrl+Shift+T is questionable, as it is used by most browsers (firefox, chrome, opera) to open last closed tabs (while Konqueror actually uses Ctrl+Z for this), and could be used in Konsole for opening a new tab (instead of Ctrl+Shift+N)... of course this kind of tweaking can be left to the user (else what's the point in having a nice Configure Shortcuts Window, uh?) but more consistency across applications could help.

The bug part is a duplication of bug #176674. See its comment #5.
