Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) Installed from: I Don't Know I can't believe we don't have a app like this already, a GUI for creating themes. As I understand it, creating a kde theme from scratch requires extensive c++/qt experience. And most of the time we have the problem that designers can't code and coders can't design. what KDE needs is a userfriendly way to create themes. These are just some mockups I put together in QT-designer/gimp, I really don't know how to actually code it all together. I'm just hoping someone who does will take the opportunity to make a huge contribution to GNU/linux (as we would get alot more, higher quality themes) Mockups: See first attachment for mockup of main window See second attachment for mockup of qt themeing: (missing toolbar, preview and icons in the list. Think qtdesigner) See third attachment for mockup of Icon themeing: (was created separetely some weeks earlier, I have a second one that is more streamlined, but I couldn't find it :)) If possible I think theme types (plasma theme, qt theme, etc.) should be implemented as plugins. And if anyone consider making the app I would be happy to keep working on the mockups and provide design ideas :D This feature request was originally submitted through KDE Brainstorm, and has been submitted to Bugzilla due to popular demand. These days theme creation and icon for Plasma requires little more than editing SVGs using common artistic software like Inkscape. To piece everything together, we have apps like Global Theme Explorer which, while rudimentary, do technically aid in this. They can always be improved of course, but that's rather out of scope for this bug report. :)
