Description Praveen Srinivasan 2009-10-24 19:40:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I'm using the webkit part in konqueror, videos on youtube.com don't play. Initially, the player shows up, but then disappears, leaving a blank spot on the webpage.

This has already been addressed in more current versions of the webkit kpart. If you installed the webkit kpart from source code, please update to the current version. Otherwise, please report it to your distro so they can update their packages. Thanks for the report.

Hi,
I am currently running KDE 4.3.3, and still have this problem. Occasionally, a video will play, but after that, any other videos again fail to show up. Do you know if the fix is newer than KDE 4.3.3?

The webkitpart is not part of the KDE release schedule since it is in the playground module. In other words, it is not yet ready to be part of the release cycle so unfortunately there is no "is the fix in KDE 4.x.x" version, but from your description it seems that the version of webkitpart included in your distro is a very old one because the behavior you describe is exactly how things used to be. Perhaps you can check the unstable repo of your distro for a more upto date version ?

I cannot reproduce any issue anymore with youtube.com with the current SVN version with Qt 4.6.

[Comment from a bug triager]
Moving old kdewebkit bug reports to kdelibs/kdewebkit. Sorry about the noise
