Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add Kickoff menu to panel 2. Right-click and switch to classic menu Expected: Menu switches with no fuss. Actual: New menu button appears, I get a popup confirming removal of widget, and then the old one disappears. This makes little sense and exposes implementation detail.
Weird, I never experienced such a bug, and I can't reproduce it on: Qt: 4.6.0 (Qt git branch 4.6 commit 52aef13521af2137db15ee878893f5c5150471e5 Date: Mon Oct 12 14:18:51 2009 +1000) KDE: 4.3.73 (KDE 4.3.73 (KDE 4.4 >= 20091026)) kdelibs svn rev. 1043024 / kdebase svn rev. 1043024 on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.30.6 - Could you try this on a new & clean panel ? It could be useful to try this in a new&clean user account (just for testing) Thanks
Still happens on a new panel. (This was a clean install.) Perhaps this was fixed in a trunk build (I'm running KDE 4.3.2), or maybe an Ubuntu hack? Experimenting with other applets, only the launchers confirm removal, which suggests there is code to make specifically the launchers confirm.
If you manually try to remove some launcher, do they ask too ? By default no widget will ask for confirmation on removal...
It appears that Kickoff is set up on my machine to ask confirmation, but no other widget. Is this confirmation dialog standard Plasma feature?
- Can you check this on 4.3.3 ? Thanks
this is a kubuntu patch (the asking about the removing of a widget). marking as downstream. please report a bug against kubuntu
Alright. For documentation purposes, in case people get to this page, it appears the bug was already in Launchpad here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase-workspace/+bug/415153
