Version: (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs digikam does not appear to support arguments any more. Using KDE 4.3.1 in openSUSE 11.2 (RC1 as yet), I used dolphin to browse a folder of images. I wanted to open one in digikam, so I told dolphin to do so. Nothing happened. I checked ~/.xsession-errors, and found this: kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/bin/digikam digikam: Unexpected argument '/home/jnelson/Desktop/photos/100_1158a.JPG'. digikam: Use --help to get a list of available command line options. So, invoking digikam with the name of a file that you want it to open is "unexpected"? That is a fairly big departure, and it's going to make an awful lot of people mighty cranky...
I doubt that this ever worked. digiKam is not meant to be called with a file argument. showFoto (the standalone digiKam image editor) can be used for that.
No. As Andi said, digiKam is used to manage collection, not image one by one. Use Showfoto instead. Gilles Caulier
