Why are the screen edges limited ato just displaying windows in a grid, etc.? The user should be allowed to choose any action. As a related question, why do most options only have keyboard shortcuts? 

It would be nice to be able to have both keyboard and mouse shortcuts as options, including the screen edges.

For example I like to change my desktop to the left with the keyboard (eg, clicking ctl+left), but I would also like to be able to just go to the left screen edge and click there. This is possible in gnome with the compiz-config package.
