Version:           1.11.4 (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Mandriva RPMs

Documentation says to use "Import option under Tools menu" to import mail from Outlook.  There does not appear to be one under TOOLS.  There is an IMPORT MESSAGES under the FILE menu, but it is inactive (greyed out).

This particular part (kdepim) is being worked upon right now, so pretty soon you should be getting updated documentation for kmail. See [1] for more details.
