Description Christophe 2009-10-20 15:04:52 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Most modern mice have a lot of rather useless buttons. For example, my mouse has two buttons that are recognized as "previous page" and "next page". I would prefer them to make useful things, like switching to the next desktop. But there is no way in KDE to do that.
You can use other programs, e.g. btnx, to map this buttons to some combinations of keys, but KDE continues to recognize them (for example, it will switch to another desktop, thanks to btnx, but also go to previous page in your browser, thanks to KDE).

KDE should propose a way to configure all the mouse buttons and it should allow to use mouse buttons in global shortcuts.
