Version: 2.0.81 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-15-generic Every so often, when typing in a text, the cursor jumps to a position a few characters or a word later on. As I don't see this at first, I continue typing until I notice that existing text has become mixed up by the new letters. Has this been observed before and what can be done?
Please update to Kile 2.1 beta 3 and check whether the problem still occurs. Thanks.
Dear Michel, thank you for your message. I'm a bit confused about the installation process. In Ubuntu 9.04 I used "sudo apt-get install kile" which installed 2.0.81. The latest stable version is 2.0.3 and now you recommend 2.1 beta. The way I see it there are only source codes available at sourceforge. I'm not expert enough to do an installation at this level. Will there be a new version at the Ubuntu repositories soon? How are these projects connected? Again, thank you and best regards, Peter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michel Ludwig" <michel.ludwig@kdemail.net> To: hinow@uwm.edu Sent: Thursday, December 3, 2009 2:54:32 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: [Bug 211124] random jumps of cursor https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211124 --- Comment #1 from Michel Ludwig <michel ludwig kdemail net> 2009-12-03 21:54:31 --- Please update to Kile 2.1 beta 3 and check whether the problem still occurs. Could this be linked with a problem with static word wrap? I reported the bug in launchpad [1] but they sent me here. Thank you. [1] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde4libs/+bug/455434
I am using kile 2.1 beta3 (kile 2.0.84) on Ubuntu 9.10 and I have the same problem.
So, does the problem only occur when a word is moved onto the next line (i.e. the static word wrap feature is activated)?
yes, that's when it happens most often.
