Version: 1.12.2 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Debian packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.30-2-686 To reproduce: 1. Select Tools | Find messages. 2. Set the search query as "Message status is unread". 3. Click on close. 4. Open the "Last search" folder. Actual result: All unread messages are briefly shown in the message list. Each of them is then automatically marked as read. All messages then disappear from the message list. Expected result: Search folder can be browsed normally.
I can confirm this behavior on Gentoo with KDE SC 4.4rc1. Possible Workaround: Disable automatic "mark as read" feature and mark messages as read with a shortcut or the context menu. See also: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/kmail-setzt-e-mails-in-gepeicherten-suchen-au/ (german only)
I think there was another bug open for this. But I can't find it :(
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
