After that I wanted to edit this .dng image. A message occurred: Digikam-error: Error when loading the image xxxx.dng. I can reproduce this error. Therefore I cannot edit the .dng image

I installed the kipüi-plugins version 0.7.0 and DigiKam 0.10.0. After that the dng converter worked well, but only once until the next reboot. After the next reboot the kipi plugins dont work. Unfortunately I cannot compile any program, that's why I cannot change to KigiKam version 1.0.0. I use only rpm files for instlling new programs, and for my distribution (Mandriva 9 Spring) a rpm for DigiKam 1.0.0 is not avalaible. Thats why I cannot use DigiKam in the monment, I'm very unhappy. For converting my fotos (from nef end dng to jpg) I mus use a windows computer of a friend with the Nikon software, it's quite complicated.
Relax... I use Mandriva too, to develop and hack. I never needs to reboot my computer. So the problem is outside... Anyway, no need to digiKam 1.0.0. kipi-plugins 0.7.0 is enough at all. And i have a solution for you. Do you know that a stand alone DNGConverter exist. It's just the plugins running alone without kipi host application. This is the solution for you. Gilles Caulier

You are right in all the points of your comment, sorry, I wrote the facts not exactly: 1. I also never need to reboot my computer after installing 2. The DNG converter works very well, inside or outside of DigiKam, sorry, I was wrong in this point. 3. Therefore this bug is fixed and can be closed. 4. But I have now another problem: I want to convert my fotos either from DNG or NEF in the jpg format. For this job I want to use the "batch image converter" (in my Digikam menu in German : Stapelverarbeitung - Bilderkonvertierung). When I perform this step, I get an error "not successful" (German: fehlgeschlagen) in the result row. And this is now my problem.
Can you open DNG file to showfoto or digiKam image editor ? Which libkdcraw version you use ? Look in Help/Components Info for details. Send me your NEF file by private mail. I would to test here with last DNGConverter code from svn trunk. Gilles Caulier
