Version:           1.0.0-beta5 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Mandriva Linux release 2010.0 (Cooker) for i586)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.4-desktop-0.rc2.1mnb

today digikam use gpx format to geolocalize

it woul be a good thing to use also a standard format whis is nmea text file

my gps data photo tracker uses standard nmea text file

Use GPSBabel to convert it.

There is no plan to support other complex GPS data file. At least an interface to GPSBabel can be done, but it's not yet available as library, only a commmand line tool...

You could use gebabbel (http://gebabbel.sourceforge.net/) as a simple GUI for gpsbabel.

it's not a bug report it's a wish. i selected "wishlist"

I also don't think it's a good idea to support anything else than GPX; it's public and the de facto standard supported by all major GPS vendors and applications, whereas NMEA is a somewhat archaic propriety protocol primarily meant for communicating data.
