Description Shufeng Zheng 2009-10-12 12:40:57 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-gentoo

I hold my filtered mails in a folder "~/mail" in my university account. The auto-retrieved namespaces are:

Personal: #mh/,#mhinbox
Other Users: ~
Shared: #ftp/,#news.,#public/,#shared/

With these namespace, my mail folders appears as:
mail account root
  Inbox
  ~
     mail
         subfolder1
         subfolder2 ...

In Thunderbird, I set "IMAP server directory" to "~/mail", and my mail folders appers as
mail account root
    inbox

Sorry, I sent this uncompleted bug report accidentally. Conitunue ...

In Thunderbird, I set "IMAP server directory" to "~/mail", and my mail folders
appers as :

mail account root
    inbox
    subfolder1
    subfolder2

This is exactly what I expected.

Then in KMail, I tried to add "~/mail" to personal namespace, what appears in kmail now is:

mail account root
    inbox
    subfolder1
    subfolder2
    ~
       mail
           subfolder1
           subfolder2

There is duplicated folders, as expected. Then I remove "~" from "Others" namespace, all the subfolders gone, only the "inbox" is shown.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
