Description Simon80 2009-10-11 06:20:22 UTC
Version: (using 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-15-generic

At some pointing while running Akregator, powertop reports that the top cause for wakeups during idle is nspluginviewer (see below), which dpkg (on Ubuntu 9.04 with backports enabled) reports is from the konqueror-nsplugins package. After restarting Akregator, the problem is gone, because nspluginviewer is no longer running. Running nspluginviewer from a terminal resulted in it causing 100 wakeups per second again.

Top causes for wakeups:
  21.6% ( 99.5) nspluginviewer : schedule_hrtimeout_range (hrtimer_wakeup)
Comment 1 Pavel Malyshev 2010-01-07 12:58:36 UTC
nspluginviewer causes ~100 wakeups for me too:

15,7% (122,7) nspluginviewer : hrtimer_start_range_ns (hrtimer_wakeup)

And it stays after closing tab with flash
