Description GODLiKE 2009-10-08 05:40:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.3.2-r3 p1.6, pie-10.1.5) 4.3.2
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

When viewing an RSS feed which has ads in it, Akregator displays it, bypassing any entries in the hosts file (hosts file is used in this case to avoid ads when browsing).

When viewing the same feeds in another viewer (e.g. Liferea), ads are not displayed.

The problem happens with any feeds with ads in it, but for the sake of testing purposes, it can be reproduced by adding the Phoronix feed (http://feedproxy.google.com/Phoronix). Of course, the expected behaviour would be to ignore ads, honoring the hosts file.

This was previously asked in a forum thread: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=82592&start=0.

I wouldn't know which additional debug thingies I should do, but if asked/explained how to do them, I'd be glad to.
