Version: Rev: 1031814 (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs If I select a dozen PNG pictures, each about 30MB and add a geolocation tag to them, i.e. menu image > geolocation > edit coordinates, digikam's GUI is blocked for the whole time the coordinates are written to the pictures. For a dozen on a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ with 2GB RAM this takes longer than 10 seconds. Expected behaviour, do not block the GUI while writing coordinates.
Multithreading must be use there... Gilles Caulier

at least a progessbar would be nice - opening a gpx file for my 14 day holiday with 1500+ fotos selected takes more then 20 minutes with no sign of anything happening

I see this, too. Doing it is 100X faster in 0.96. How could it be that slow now?
There was a bug in libexiv2 (http://dev.exiv2.org/issues/show/677), which was solved last weekend with libexiv2 0.20. I bet this was causing this issue here.
I think you're right. My photos are Nikon also. Maybe this bug should be marked a dup of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224094, which describes what I have seen beyond just the geolocation marking slowness.
