Description DonMartio 2009-10-04 11:21:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Since i switched to kde4 i can't use korganizer anymore. When i try to import my old ics File or even when i try to save the 'empty' calendar i always get a popup saying 'No Resources available'.

If i try to add a resource on the lower left i get an empty list to choose from.

First i thought it has something to do with my switch (i copied my old config) but even if i delete it or create an all new account on my system i get the same error.

Then i checked the akonadi stuff (which was not running) but that doesn't help.

Where does korganizer get this resources from?
Maybe i missed something to emerge/install.

Still the same in 4.3.2. Itried the same at home (also a Gentoo maschine) and there is no problem. Maybe someone can tell me where the Default Calendar on the lower left and the Resources (at there are two to choose from) come from.
I reinstalled korganizer from scratch... i even reinstalled kdelibs but no success.

I created an all new and clean user (suggesting that it's a problem with some stff copied when i went to kde4) but it's all the same.

Please... if anyone knows a hint to look for. I need it.

Ok this is some global stuff. If i go to Systemsettings->->advanced->KDE Resources
there are no resource to Select from or to add.

This is also the case when i try that with an all new user.

Strange but true, if i start systemsettings as root then everything is where it belongs.

Reinstall kdelibs, kdepimlibs, dbus doesn't help.

I've compiled kdelibs and kdepimlibs with debug enabled an when i start systemsettings and go to the resources i get this:

Maciej, can you check this Gentoo report please. Doesn't look KDE related.
Comment 5 Maciej Mrozowski 2009-10-27 15:02:55 UTC
@DonMartio - take a look at bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=261813 - it may be related.

Anyway I agree it doesn't look like KDE (upstream) issue, so mark it as downstream please.

OP - see, whether permissions to /usr/share/config and/or /usr/share/kde4/services are 700. If they are, please set them to 755 (world readable)
Comment 6 DonMartio 2009-10-27 15:25:55 UTC
I did both:

chmod -R 755 /usr/share/kde4/services
chmod -R 755 /usr/share/kde4/config

and now it's working!!!

Thank you, thank you very much.
If i would have known that the services are involved here i ahd tried this earlyer..
