Description Laszlo Hazy 2009-09-30 04:36:13 UTC
Version: 3.3.1 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

So kate and family do not support page print ranges (bug 160760). Seriously, at this time and age an application that cannot do such basic things should not even be allowed to exist. It is a must if say you are trying to print duplex on a single-sided printer. Printing to file, and text range selection etc is just a joke.

I understand that it used to work with Cups only in KDE3. So put the darn support back, for God's sake! At least it works with a modern print backend. I think developers spend way too much time on funky features and ignore the basics.

Therefore, REQUEST: page print range support in kate and family.

My writing has been harsher than warranted on the developers and likely offending. I apologize for that. It does give you a pretty good idea though on how frustrated some users feel when running into such basic issues. So I will rephrase things the way they ought to be:

Please, put the page print range support back, even if it is only limited and, longer term, find a way to make it work right.
