Version: (using KDE 4.3.1) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages The kwalletmanager program allows manual access to the information stored in kwallet; however, I believe kwalletmanager requires KDE and an X server to be running. A user may find themselves without an X server but in need of sensitive information stored within kwallet. Here is a concrete use-case: A user updates a Debian package, which breaks X such that it quickly seg-faults whenever started. This prevents a user from starting KDE since X cannot run. The user wishes to fix this problem by (for example) down-grading the version of X installed. However, to do this the user must have network access. Obtaining network access might require secret information; e.g., WPA passphrase or WEP keys. These values are stored in kwallet, so preventing the user from connecting. The wish is for some light-weight (e.g., command-line driven) utility for obtaining information from kwallet. This doesn't have to be fancy, just sufficient for someone to obtain values from kwallet. (apologies if this already exists! :) Cheers, Paul.
