Version: rc1 (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Hi there, If i listen to songs in random mode, i can not go back to the last song i listened to. It just plays some other random song. It was working in 2.1, but in 2.2rc1 "going back" is broken.
I updated to 2.2 and it is still there. But i notice it goes back to some songs i played, just don't to the one i played right before the current song.
Hm, I wonder if this is not actually intended. I guess when interrupting the random mode, then going back should work, no?
(In reply to comment #2) > Hm, I wonder if this is not actually intended. oh i hope not. That is totally annoying > I guess when interrupting the > random mode, then going back should work, no? No, then it goes one song back in the playlist order.
Is there no one else who notice this bug?
*bump* Is this only me who got the bug? Or why is no one saying anything?
Well, as I said, I would expect Amarok to go back to a random song in random mode. I don't think this is a bug, but a developer might have more insight. Lets see if somebody comments on it, they are just very busy, a little patience, please.
As far as I am concerned, this is clearly a bug. In every other music player that I know of, including the major ones like iTunes, using "Back" during shuffle/random will jump back to the previously played song. It basically should work like a doubly linked list (i.e. pressing "Next" again will bring you to the track played before going back, not a new random track). I think that the way this is implemented in 2.2.1 (intended or not) does not correspond with most users' mental model of random playback.
Fixed in git, commits from v2.2.1-168-gd90351a to v2.2.1-171-g4112a54.
