It will be really nice if we could set kio process lower priority than current application. Indeed cdrom copy take adge and freeze box. 

This could be configurable depending of the media and priority could be furthermore be modified clicking on the notification area.

Part of the problem is a Linux bug. See http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12309
