Description M G Berberich 2009-09-25 22:46:17 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

At least on a german system it is impossible to add a shortcut to backtab, because when entering this shortcut it becomes “Shift+Tab” instead of “Shift+Backtab” and is not working.

It is the right behaviour: backtab is exactly SHIFT+TAB.

Do you have "backtab" as a standalone key on the german keyboard?
Comment 2 M G Berberich 2009-09-27 00:23:39 UTC
There is no dedicated backtab-key on a german keyboard, to get a backtab you press Shift+Tab.

The problem is: If you press Shift+Tab in the shortcut-dialog, you get Shift+Tab, bat Shift+tab is not working as a shortcut, it has to be Backtab.

In .kde/share/config/kglobalshortcutsrc the line has p.e. to be:

  Walk Through Windows (Reverse)=Alt+Shift+Backtab,…

but if you try to enter it via the systemsettings / kcmshell4 keys it becomes

   Walk Through Windows (Reverse)=Alt+Shift+Tab,…

and it is not working.

Same thing happens here. This is a Spanish keyboard, but I doubt that matters (we have the usual tab key). I suspect this might be related to Qt versions.
