Version: 2:0.10.0-1ubuntu3 (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages When trying to export images to Picasa Web, the following error occurs: "Could not connect to host 192.168.1.37: Unknown error." After clicking "OK", the export window will just sit there and do nothing, completely unresponsive. Tabbing away to another application - say Firefox - and tabbing back, will actually show a different dialogue box that was hidden below the export one, saying : "Checking if previous token is still valid" The only option here, is to cancel. This makes the original export dialogue box responsive again, but only "help" and "close" if functional, the rest is greyed out. I use this on a monthly basis and never had trouble. I generally do no look at the updates, just apply them (yes, stupid user) so I am unsure if there was an update to either digikam or the export plugin - known as Kipi plugins. #Version information : Yes, I lied on the form regarding KDE version, as I'm using Gnome to start with and this is not (I hope for the sake of my unburned skin) a KDE bug. KDE - 4.2.2-0ubuntu1 Digikam - 2:0.10.0-1ubuntu3 Kipi-plugins - 0.2.0 Ubuntu - 9.04 #Further information : I do not have accounts with all the other services available under exports, but most give the same error in any case. The IP address that the error refers to is not on my network right now, although it is in the range I use.
Install kipi-plugins 0.6.0, and try again... Gilles Caulier
Gilles, First of, thank you for the quick response. I have looked at the changelog, but could not see (it is not a small changelog for the time from from 0.2 -> 0.6) where this particular issue is noted. The problem with installing from a tar ball, is that it seems I require a full KDE development environment as neither the install section in the README nor the installation instructions per the kipi web site works. The link from the INSTALL file simply explain how to set up a KDE development environment. This is a non-trivial undertaking for a end user that used to have a working exporter. I have found 0.5 in the next release of ubuntu, but trying to use that only ends in dependency hell right back to gcc. Using the correct repository works, but it basically want to replace my system. Do you perhaps have any other ideas of how to fix this particular problem ? Martinus. p.s. If you are interested, here is the cmake output : cmake . Re-run cmake no build system arguments CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.6/Modules/FindKDE4.cmake:84 (MESSAGE): ERROR: cmake/modules/FindKDE4Internal.cmake not found in /home/thd/.kde/share/apps;/usr/share/kde4/apps Call Stack (most recent call first): CMakeLists.txt:32 (FIND_PACKAGE) CMake Warning (dev) in CMakeLists.txt: No cmake_minimum_required command is present. A line of code such as cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 2.6) should be added at the top of the file. The version specified may be lower if you wish to support older CMake versions for this project. For more information run "cmake --help-policy CMP0000". This warning is for project developers. Use -Wno-dev to suppress it.

Ask in digiKam-users@kde.org to see wher to find right repository Gilles Caulier
Gilles, Thank you for the help, but I am afraid this is not going to work. Putting the requirement on a end user to custom build packages outside of the repositories, is not a workable solution I'm afraid. There is no project directory and the NEWS file in the main directory only contains .5 -> .6 changes. There are no other NEWS files in the entire tree. I have searched this bug tracker, but can not find the particular issue I have. I am still very interested WHY this worked and now does not work, and what caused it. Please close this bug at your convenience, as I will have to move to other software (F-Spot works fine). Thank you for your time and effort. Martinus.
