Version: 0.10.0-r1 (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages I absolutely need a feature that will allow me to switch back and forth between photos while retaining the same zoom in the same area (if possible). Amongst other things, we need this for comparing the sharpness/focus of several similar shots and deciding which one is best.
Hmm isn't this possible with LT (light table)? At least here the zoom level is kept (latest SVN).
Yes Andi, but it should be possible to do that in the main window too.
Maybe adding a tabbed interface to Digikam would solve this? It works in Kmail!
DrSlony, But main windows (preview mode), is not LT... This is why LT exist (:=))) Gilles Caulier
I dont like idea about tabbed view for the album/preview part. Makes confusing. Light Table is just best when wanted to compare files. Previews needs some new features like loop but they are other wishes.
DrSlony, This entry still valid ? Gilles Caulier
I think that this issue would be mitigated if one could add photos to the light table via the context menu in the thumbnail bar of the View mode. What do you think about that, DrSlony?
There is no menu entry in thumbbar view of preview mode from album GUI. But from preview canvas, this option already exist. http://www.flickr.com/photos/digikam/6506226043/sizes/o/in/photostream/ At least, keyboard shortcut to LT is always available everywhere... Gilles Caulier
@Gilles: Looking at your second screenshot, with the thumbnails along the top. I _often_ find myself in the position on that screen where I would like to add three or four thumbnails to the LT. The context menu should be available right there in the thumbnails, without having to open the photo. In fact, I would use it so much that an (optional) popup overlay with the ability to add to the LT (much like the + selection markers work) would be a welcome addition.
digiKam 2.5.0's preview mode retains the zoom and area switching to the next photo, thank you!
