Description Jeffrey 2009-09-22 16:56:48 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

When I add an Akonadi resource to Kontact (either Calendar or Address book, or likely others also), the Resource gets the name I pick (such as GMail) but then there is a sub-resource for the Akonadi stuff.

In my current Calendar setup, for example, I have a resource 'GMail' and there is a subresource 'akonadi_gcal_resource_1'.

I would like either that the subresource 'akonadi_gcal_resource_1' is hidden so that I only see my main resource (because I will add new resources if I want a new calendar etc), or at least allow me to rename it to something more friendly ('Work Calendar' for example).

Thanks for KDE!

My experience is different. In my case, the migration went completely wrong, so i ended up deleting the akonadi database and starting over by adding resources manually in the systemsettings module.

I do not get to pick names except i use the akonadi resource types representing the traditional resources.

I expect that the "akonadi compatibility resource" will go away ASAP.

I maintain that using the file name for default name for resources is bad - files can have the same name, and from a user POV, "akonadi" is a confusing word that does not mean anything - so it should never be visible at all!

But a good start would be letting the user choose a name for each resource!
