Version: 2.2 beta 2 (using KDE 4.3.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages I believe the wikipedia plasmoid in the latest amarok 2.2 beta 2 searches for "artistname (band)", and while this does reduce the chances of getting the wrong article, it also means that in some cases you get no article at all, even though one exists. It would be great if amarok could keep this behaviour, and then if nothing is found it could fallback to the old one. Thanks in advance :)
Yes, I too observed this behavior, since a few days, using Amarok 2.2-git.

This is not a wish but a real bug, marking it with severity normal. I realize the irony of having to change a wish into a real bug :)
Hi, I've made some change in wikipedia Engine the 17 of september. Is your version up-to-date ? B/c it was broken b/c of some wikipedia changes ... Here when listening to any song it works fine, even Aesop Rock which is taken as an example on the forum (http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=115&t=81926) Proof :) http://imagebin.ca/view/Pn1M7G.html The engine first query to artisname_(band), and then tries artistname etc ... Can someone confirm this with an up-to-date git version ? -Simon

beta 2 was tagged the 14 of september, wikipedia made some internal change around the 16 and the fix in amarok was made the 17. Please test the upcoming RC version :) -Simon
Closing then. Feel free to re-open if you find this again in Amarok 2.2 final, to be released in a few days.
