The plastik window decoration uses two different color/font settings for active/inactive windows. When switching an app, that was inactive before, to active, the window decoration only partially applies the different color settings, and only fully updates if you hover the affected areas with the mouse cursor.
This only happens when compositing is enabled and only affects applications that are maximized.
