Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs In KDE3 in the main menu there was "session", in KDE4 there is "file" despite the fact there is no single action related to file in this menu, but to sessions. I am not saying each app should reinvent its own main menu entries, but when it is justified by the meaning -- yes.
The use of 'File' is wrong in the sense that the items in it do not relate to files but it is consistent with other applications on the platform in that everything to do with creating or closing tabs goes in this menu. Common functionality like exiting the application is also always found via File -> Quit. 'Session' would not be appropriate either since we mostly refer to 'tabs' in the UI for simplicity. I'm going to leave it as 'File' for the time being unless we have a better solution to implement KDE-wide (or at least, in most KDE apps that are affected).
