Description Simon Gronlund 2009-09-09 14:52:20 UTC
Version: 1.1 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

In Konversation, Find (Ctrl-F) will resize a narrow window under at least two use cases, notice that the general window for Konversation must be narrow, which is most often the case with a utility you always want to have on top of the desktop.

1) Open Find and type something that is not found in the log. As soon as the informative icon and text "Phrase not found" pops up it also resizes the window to host the new GUI component.

2) Close Find with such an non-found phrase at the input text field. Next time Find is opened it will resize the window. That is since the not-found text is remembered and the informative text once again populates the GUI.

Suggestion: Have the informative GUI component temporarily replace the two buttons "Find Next" and "Find Previous", which at that moment are grayed out anyway. At least disallow resizing a window.

The search bar has been redesigned to look like other search bars in KDE which resulted in a bar that takes up a bit less by default and doesn't have the not found text.
