Description Ritesh Raj Sarraf 2009-09-08 10:25:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I'm filing it under kdelibs as I don't know where this bug applies.

I extend my desktop at workplace to an external monitor. My external monitor is an IBM LCD display at 1280x1024 resolution.
My laptop's display is at 1400x1050 resolution.

At home, I open kontact and run it on the laptop's display. The columns are sized fine. Then I suspend it and resume it back at office. Here, I extend my display to make the external monitor to be my primary display device.

There, kontact (kmail/knode) column sizes don't get resized to the new resolution. I instead get a scroll bar that I need to scroll and then manually resize the columns.

Attached screenshot should explain the problem.

- Do you see this in more than one application?
As far as I remember this depends of the setting of the treewidget headers (to autoexpand, or remain at the same size; fixed or movable). This option is app-dependant If I recall correctly.
Thanks

Yes. The problem can be easily seen in at least the following. Kmail, Knode, Akregator.

I'm sure there must be more. Maybe KSpreadsheet. I think anything that uses columns might be affected.
