Description jamundso 2009-09-08 03:15:35 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #157123 +++

Version: (using KDE 3.5.8)

You can sort timezones by their names, but I am talking about technical timezone -- e.g. Greenwich would be the first entry in such ordering.

Same problem in 4.3.1 (kdebase-workspace-4.3.1-1.fc12.i686).

Sorry, the product should be "plasma", but I can't change it.

Though, of course, in KDE it could be smaller... and scrollable. :)

Right, the widget for browsing timezones leaves much to be desired. First of all, right now, I'm sitting on a plane flying over the US. I have no idea to which time zone I'm going, so I want to browse through the available options. As I know pretty sure I'm over the USA, I want to see only cities in this part of the globe. That was possible in KDE3.5's timezone picker which was structured by the continent, but can't be done in the current one.

In addition, I'd expect to see all cities matching "PST" timezone when I type that string, not just a search against the city's name.

Confirming.
