Description EM 2009-09-07 19:13:49 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.2.4)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages

For a few weeks kmail has difficulites to start: no specific error message, even started from console. At second or third test it is OK
Today, it started well and I got on a received message an acknowledge request: I answered "Yes" and all crashed!
Backtrace info is not filled in in a full manner but I add it if usefull:
===
This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

Unfortunately, the backtrace is not useful and your KMail version is very old. If you can reproduce this bug with KMail from KDE 4.3.1, please install the debug package for kdepim and paste a better one.

Comment 2 EM 2009-09-07 22:16:29 UTC
The version of mail I use is "Version 1.11.4 / KDE 4.2.4". it is the one Debian Squeez packages give: how can you consider it is too old for support?

kdepim is present on my configuration: what should I do to match your resquirements?

Next time I face a bug, I think I'll not report it, according to the way this one is received (even if; I understand, not well documented)

The entire 4.2 branch is out of date, hence no bugs will be fixed there. But if the bug is still present in the 4.3 branch we will try and fix it here.
The KDE community does not have the manpower to maintain old releases.

Closing the old crash reports which don't have a useful backtrace. Thanks.
