Application that crashed: systemsettings

What I was doing when the application crashed:
i have this issue for some time now. i do not remember since when but i guess... kde 4.2.x

i click system settings, then network settings, then network settings...
nothing shows up.
i right click the blank area (where network cards used to be) and it crashes.
