Description Maciej Pilichowski 2009-09-05 20:03:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I am not talking about migrating data (mail) but I am focused now on migrating accounts meta-data (i.e. settings).

I copied *rc files and I got:
+ identities -- correct (*)
+ receiving accounts -- correct
- sending accounts -- incorrect, all data were lost, KMail set some default account on its own

(*) as far as they can be -- since sending accounts are lost, the related entries are set to dummy values as well
Comment 1 Martin Koller 2009-09-08 22:22:39 UTC
you also need to copy .kde/share/config/mailtransports
Comment 2 Maciej Pilichowski 2009-09-08 22:59:55 UTC
a) there is no such file

b) all data sit in kmailrc file which was of course copied
Comment 3 Martin Koller 2009-09-08 23:10:26 UTC
That's not correct.
I was using KDE3.5.10 before and there is a mailtransports file.
From what KDE3 version did you migrate ?
Comment 4 Maciej Pilichowski 2009-09-09 07:37:30 UTC
I use KDE3.5.10 too. Maybe you use KMail Enterprise version? I use regular version.

I noticed that the mail transports are lost migrating from kde 4.1 to kde 4.2. Maciei probably runs into this

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
