I realized that 90% of the emails I get from the KDE bugzilla are just to tell me that someone has added or removed himself from the CC list. This was making me waste a lot of time, so I decided to see if I could change it in my preferences. And sure, I could (great!). But I still wonder why this is the default setting. I think that 99.99% of the users don't want to get emails telling them that someone has added/removed himself from the CC list, but probably most of them are lazy (as I was up to now) to care about logging into their account and find the place to change it. So I think it would be great to change this default, at least for new accounts created (probably it would be a good idea to change it for accounts already created, but not sure if that's ok for the 0.01% who might want to get these notifications and would stop getting them without knowing why). Thanks.
get off my comp.
By default, CC change notification is only enabled for the reporter role. I agree most bug repoerters (either users or developers) do not care about CC list changes.
I have no strong feeling about this, but I wouldn't mind the default to be changed. Another possibility might be to send a first notification which indicates that further such notifications will not be sent, unless the user enables the preference.
Oh, and one argument for disabling (at least by default) is I am not sure the Cc list should be public anyway. By the way, this ticket should have wishlist "Importance".
