Description info 2009-09-03 19:43:44 UTC
Version: 0.99.01 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 4.10.4", openSUSE 11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.29-0.1-default

I can download a list of available news articles from a password protected newsgroup, but when I click an article to display it, I get the message "an error occured" "the article you requested is not on the news server".
Before I updated from OpenSuSE 10.3 to 11.1, I could fetch articles from that newsgroup without problems. Other newsgroups are not affected under 11.1.
Unfortunately, knode does not tell me, what kind of error occured. Due to the newsgroup's admin, the articles are available.

If you have access to the (public) server nntp.perl.org, could you try to reproduce you problem on this server.
I suspect that your problem is the same as the bug #193550

No, I do not have problems to read posts from that server. Only that from a password protected. So my guess is, that is has to do with the protection.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug.
