Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) Compiler: gcc version 4.4.1 20090725 OS: Linux Installed from: Fedora RPMs While using some text editors, sometimes you cannot type in anything into the file name entry of the save file dialog. This bug happens occationally, sometimes you can type in the file name normally. - At least, these applications are affected: Kate Kwrite - It seems that non-kde apps are not affected at all. The gedit editor never have this problem. - I've found that "openoffice base" also have this problem, but it's more serious. Sometimes one cannot type in anything into its entries.
In addition: I've suffered this problem for a rather long time. Somebody says that never use languages other than us-english will fix it.
Well, I suspect (based upon your name and comment #1) the real problem is you are using some input method (ibus?) and it sometimes doesn't work well with KDE/Qt applications. Is that the case? Is so, try fcitx.
