Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Ever since KDE 4.1, I have been experiencing a bug where the panel size changes every time one of the following happens * The resolution of the display is switched, or an external display is hooked up * Desktop effects are enabled, disabled, or their settings are modified. I normally have my panel much smaller than the default size (27 pix). The panel appears to increases in size until it reaches a stable size after two or three subsequent operations (38 pix). This is quite annoying, since it requires dragging the panel back to its correct size every single time this happens. The resizing does not occur when killing plasma-desktop and restarting it. I am running KDE on a laptop with Intel 945gm graphics and use the oxygen plasma theme, in case that's relevant. The problem occurs on both ArchLinux and Kubuntu.
it's fixed in trunk and backported in 4.3 branch (4.3.1)
Please reopen this -- I'm afraid the bug still occurs in 4.3.1 (tested on Arch Linux)
Same for me, bug still exists... Panels size is gettinger bigger always when something is changed on desktop effects...
Sorry didn't mention, i am also on archlinux with kde 4.3.1 packages....
Count me in. KDE 4.3.1 on Gentoo ~amd64 & ~x86.
Bug 184905 is probably a duplicate.
Same here on fedora 11 kde 4.3.1
(In reply to comment #7) > Same here on fedora 11 kde 4.3.1 I have the same problem: I start krandr at login since I'm on a laptop and sometimes I need to change the default resolution, and I see that any time krandr changes something, the panel becomes larger. I'm on Mandriva 2009.1 KDE 4.3.1.
The same occurs for me on KDE 4.3.1 on SUSE 11.1. I have a wide screen monitor with the panel on the LHS of the screen.
Do you reproduce with kde 4.4.4 or 4.5 beta ?
For me this was fixed ages ago. Probably somewhere along 4.3 series but cannot say for sure. I'm now on 4.4.4 and experiencing no problems.
