Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I am using KDE 4.3.0 on both my desktop and my laptop, both have this same issue. My desktop is running Kubuntu Karmic Alpha 4, and my laptop is running the stable Kubuntu 9.04. Both are 64-bit. Sometimes when I copy files from my desktop to a folder I have open in Dolphin, it copies the file to an incorrect location based upon the previous position of the mouse cursor. An example of this is the following two scenarios: Scenario 1: I download a PDF document to my desktop. I want to save this to a place inside my home directory. I open the location I want to copy it to in Dolphin, and then I click and drag the file into the dolphin window. While I am moving the file into the file list in Dolphin, my mouse cursor passes "Pictures" on the places tab on the way to move the file into the folder. The file copies to "Pictures" rather than the current directory of Dolphin. (See screenshot). Scenario 2: I browse my home directory in Dolphin and and locate a file I want to move somewhere else. I open a second Dolphin window, and then drag the file from one Dolphin window to the other. While I am moving my mouse cursor through to Dolphin, the mouse cursor passes the "Desktop" folder. The file is copied to "Desktop" rather than the location of the second window. The screenshot that I attached best explains this issue. It appears that the actual dragging of the file doesn't quite catch up to the mouse cursor fast enough sometimes. This issue does not happen all the time, but I experience it about once per day.

Also I want to make it known that I am very careful to let go of the mouse button and drop the file into the main window, not the sides. If I were to "cut" and "paste" the file, it works as expected.
Thanks Jeremy for the report, but I cannot reproduce this behavior (I tried both scenarios). It is out of scope of Dolphin if the drag event is not provided for the current mouse position... Hm, which Qt version are you using?
I cannot reproduce this issue either... Have you experienced this problem again? If not, I'll close the bug report soon.
No response -> closing. Please reopen this bug if you still encounter this crash in newer versions of Dolphin.
