Description Simon Braunschmidt 2009-08-27 12:11:14 UTC
Version: 1.11.2 (using Devel)
Compiler: ubuntu 9.04 prepackaged, it think 4.2.something
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

This is actually for kmail 1.11.2 on KDE 4.2.2. A version i am not allowed to enter bugs for. Yet its in the the dropdown menu. Yes this is pissing of casual bugreporters.

Anyways,
when i click on the on plus/minus colapse/expand buttons in a message view, the message text jumps unexpectedly.

It only happens when i have scrolled down the message a bit, so that a part in the beginning of the message is scrolled away.

The message text jumps, and i am back to the beginning of the message.

This is super-annoying, and makes expand/collapse totaly useless. I want to have the text that a already read keep its position, so i can read whats behind the button in context, then click again to read on.
Look at the thunderbird quotecollapse-0.7 addon to compare how to do it right, e.g. move (make appear/disapper) the text below the button, keep the text above the button at its place.

Regards
Simon

I just tried it and did not have this problem in KDE 4.4.0
