Description christobald 2009-08-24 00:10:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

AFter running KDE in Fedora 11 through FreeNX (I'm not directly connected to the system, I'm experiencing a crash in kde systematically and systematically the same. The system can be idle or not.

This is not linked to a particular application.

It just happen 'in the background'.

It happens all the time, it's very regular. It seems not to affect KDE at all.

Regards,

Christophe.

packages ?
Thanks
Comment 4 christobald 2009-08-25 03:37:06 UTC
Hello Dario,

Here's what I got.

[root@chinix ~]# rpm -qa | grep package
jpackage-utils-1.7.5-2.7.fc11.noarch
kpackagekit-0.4.1.1-2.fc11.i586
fontpackages-filesystem-1.20-2.fc11.noarch
[root@chinix ~]#

[root@chinix ~]# kpackagekit --version
Qt: 4.5.2
KDE: 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4)
KPackageKit: 0.4.1.1

Hope that help,

I'm running fedora11 KDE version that I keep up to date with 'yum update'. Please note that I encounter those problems while running the nomachine client to connect my linux box FreeNX server.

Christophe.

Comment 5 christobald 2009-08-26 19:04:22 UTC
I don't know if this is related but this morning I got a new version of kde etc loaded on FEDORA 11 (more than 200 MB). But, after a clean reboot, I still get this kde4 crash while running a FreeNX session. It happens all the time, when the system is idle !!!.

I have attached the new crash info. Hopefully this will help,

Regards,

Christophe FRAULE

I think you should start using bugs.kde.org.
Replying to the messages and attaching stuff on them
is really painfull to us, since you attachment was
lost in some place, and please
provide information about packagekit-qt
i think fedora has upcased packages so
grep -i might be better.
Comment 7 Dario Andres 2009-12-11 12:48:59 UTC
This could be related to bug 218200. Thanks
Comment 8 Daniel Nicoletti 2010-08-17 21:48:58 UTC
This bug is fixed in newer versions of (K)PackageKit ( > 0.5)
since PackageKit uses PolicyKit-1 which would not
crash like this.

Thanks.
