Description Earl Azarov 2009-08-23 10:09:49 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

After upgrade to Fedora 12 the following applications Konqueror, Dolphin stop working. When it starts it comes up with error '...file protocol died...'
It suspiciously related to selinux.

One question: after the "...file protocol died..." message, does the application (dolphin and/or konqueror) crash? Do you have a backtrace?

For the instruction to provide a backtrace please read:

Needs info
Comment 3 Earl Azarov 2009-08-30 06:54:09 UTC
I cannot submit backtraces because applications do not crash and stay with blank directory listing and the only option is to click on the button Close to clear this error message.
Launching application from a command line mode doesn't show up with any error in Konsole.

If I change selinux to disable on the next reboot kdeinit4 cannot start, so I have to got to /etc/selinux/config to re-enable it.

Related to bug#515539.

Is this still a problem? I never experienced such a crash.

No response -> closing. Please reopen this bug if you still encounter this crash in newer versions of Dolphin.
