BTW: which places URL are you trying to enter? I have been trying to reproduce this bug in 4.4trunk and 4.3.xbranch and I failed to do it.

I just typed it into the Dolphin URL bar and Dolphin did _not_ lock up. Only when clicking on Places does the lockup occur.

After the "lockup", are you closing the window of Dolphin, and some seconds later you get the crash ?

It happens both ways: whether or not I try to close Dolphin, and whether or not the "Terminate Application" dialogue appears, Dolphin will crash.
