Description David John Mills 2009-08-23 03:35:25 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0) "release 158", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25.20-0.5-default

When editing an entry in KAddressBook, KNotes and other applications the edit window appears with all the correct text but then the text box in which the cursor is located clears and the text it had is lost.

If you cancel the edit the text is still there but if you OK a change the text is permanently lost. In the case of KAddressBook this results in the address book entry's name disappearing.

The only way to work around this is to pre select the text that will disappear and paste it back into the cleared text box after the edit window appears and stabilises.

- Do you have "scim" installed ? This reminds me bug 188533
Thanks
Comment 3 David John Mills 2009-09-04 15:32:00 UTC
Yes, I do have SCIM installed.

I have also discovered that I can get the lost text back by pressing CTRL-Z.
Comment 4 Dario Andres 2009-09-04 15:37:41 UTC
- Do you need SCIM ? If you don't need it, can you try uninstalling it to see if this is indeed bug 188533 ? Thanks
