A lot of text boxes in KDE are too small because the icons in them are overlapping the text box border. Or the icons too big, depending on your perspective. 

My screen resolution is 1280x800.

It's in Konqueror. The address bar and The search box are effected.

The problem is Dolphin's address bar.

Can you check this changing your widget style from Oxygen to another one (like Plastique) using SystemSettings/Appearance/WidgetStyle ?
This is probably related to bug 199347.

The problem doesn't exist in Plastique.
