Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Occasional Kde (Screen+keyboard) freezes while working (not very often). It just happens. I can be when right clicking an icon and seclecting Properties option, and clicking the Preview, then switching to a different tab, and it freezes. Since 2 days ago it froze 3 times.
Do you have one or more leds blinking on your keyboard? Can you switch to a terminal with CTRL+ALT+F1? Is it possible to connect to that PC by SSH?
When Kde freezes, only the Num lock button is on, the Capslock button is turned off. The Kde freeze that I am talking about is like freeze in Windows(You Desktop is like a still picture). Thanks. And about CTRL+ALT+F1 and logging to the PC through an SSH connection? Did you try? Moreover you should check bug #171685 too. Thanks.
Feel free to reopen the report if the problem still happens in recent versions ( KDE SC 4.8.4 or higher). Thanks.
