The name of the poster can be revealed by viewing the message source.

Looks like this also affects some posts without 'special' characters in the From: field, for example <jOudnR01rMSVMgPXnZ2dnUVZ8q-dnZ2d@brightview.com>: From: "Russell W. Barnes" <russell dot barnes at huttonrow dot co dot uk>
Looks like this is fixed in 4.3.1
The problem isn't fixed as of KDE 4.5. See news:oqkj86p9h4901kfio0j8btqhrtqbttmb8r@4ax.com for an example. This message has the following From: header: From: Some Bastard <.@.> See the attached screenshot for how KNode displays this in the message and in the view source windows.
