If a poster uses a name that contains accented characters, the From field in the article view and the thread list will be blank. The name of the poster can be revealed by viewing the message source.

Looks like this also affects some posts without 'special' characters in the From: field, for example <jOudnR01rMSVMgPXnZ2dnUVZ8q-dnZ2d@brightview.com>:

From: "Russell W. Barnes" <russell dot barnes at huttonrow dot co dot uk>
Comment 5 alex dekker 2009-10-02 12:07:46 UTC
Looks like this is fixed in 4.3.1
Comment 6 Tristan Miller 2010-09-10 17:33:40 UTC
The problem isn't fixed as of KDE 4.5.

See news:oqkj86p9h4901kfio0j8btqhrtqbttmb8r@4ax.com for an example. This message has the following From: header:

From: Some Bastard <.@.>

See the attached screenshot for how KNode displays this in the message and in the view source windows.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug.
