Description Michael Corsa 2009-08-21 16:21:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Trying to use Create Calendar function from within either Gwenview or Digikam using kipi Create Calendar function on an x86_64 AMD system running KDE 4.3.0 on openSuSE 11.1. The calendar generation progress completes and then when pressing Finish button, pdftops process starts along with cupsd but they run forever using over half of CPU. I let it run overnight over 9 hours, still no output whatsoever and I was only trying to print 1 single month with a photo. I tried various photo resolution quality settings all with same result. I have to manually kill pdftops process to get it to stop.

Any one have any thoughts on this? I have updated to KDE4.3.3 and still have the same issue, no calendar output, high CPU usage never ending process.

As far as I know it is cups that starts pdftops. And I also noticed that this can take really long (without using this plugin). Have you tried to run pdftops manually on a big pdf?

Yes, pdftops is started by CUPS which is started by QPrinter. Nothing we can do on plugin side.
