Description Michael G. Hansen 2009-08-21 11:48:28 UTC
Version: 1.0.0-beta3 (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Sometimes I need download images directly from the SD-card using an external reader. When I use the camera with Digikam after taking new images, the images I imported manually before are shown as new (as expected). It would be nice to have an option to mark them as "Already imported" manually so that "Select new items" won't select them any more.

It's already implemented, using digiKam Database...

Are you sure it's implemented? Michael talks about marking an image in our database as downloaded without really downloading it with digikam.

Why to force this mark if image has not been donwloaded ? I don't understand ...

In my case, I sometimes take the card out of the camera to download the images using SD-card adapter because PTP does not provide thumbnails for movies. Then I plug the card back into the camera. I do not delete any images.

Next time I take new images on the camera and plug the camera in the computer and download the images using Digikam, the old images that I downloaded before are shown as new. Now as I repeat this process several times, I end up with a mixture of images that are really new and images that are not new. If I could simply mark the ones which I downloaded of the card manually as "Not new", it would be easier to select the "really new" ones.

I hope this explanation clears things up a bit. Think of this "Mark as not new" button as the "Mark as read" button in a mail client.

Hmm but you can also download images from your cardreader with digiKam? It should be marked as downloaded as well...

SVN commit 1048758 by mghansen:

Add a "Mark as downloaded" action to the camera download ui and fix availability of "Toggle Lock" action.
